![]() The Ultimate Blackjack Tour is a televised series of elimination blackjack tournaments that aired on CBS. It debuted on September 16, 2006 and the shows consists of a series of televised elimination blackjack tournaments that are great fun to watch. The person who wins the weekly tournament is brought back for the final Tournament of champions. Blackjack has always been a very popular game and this TV show plays on that and with good success I might add. This tour uses professional Blackjack players along with internet qualifiers. The people who produce the show are actually professional poker players who are known for poker and not blackjack and that was done as they figured it would draw more attention to the series which it has. Max Rubin and Matyi Moralejo serve as the hosts for the Ultimate Blackjack Tour show while Nikki Ziering and Shandi Finnessey do a very good job as sideline reporters for the show. Nikki Ziering did not return for the second season of the show though. Some of the featured players on the Ultimate Blackjack tour were poker stars Johnny Chan, Robert Williamson III, and Phil Laak. Professional blackjack players were also included such as Ken Einiger, Anthony Curtis, Dave Stann and Monica Reeves to name a few. Season one champion crowned was David Matthews while the Ultimate Blackjack Tour Legends Tournament champion was Ken Einiger. Rene Angelil, who is best known for being the manager and husband of Celine Dion, gave a very good performance in this season ending tournament. What many people do not realize about Angelil is he was a very well-known player on the blackjack-tournament scene during the 1980's before Celine Dion hit the big time and became a household name. Future Of The Ultimate Blackjack TourMany people wonder what is next for the Ultimate Blackjack Tour or if it will die a slow death. This is a question that could have many different answers, but in my opinion it will stay around for several different reasons. Blackjack is a game that everyone has played in their lifetime either with family or friends. The popularity of the game has really grown in the last few years and being able to see it on television in a tournament format will just make it grow as a competition. One of the biggest reasons this tour will grow is the availability of it on the Internet. This allows an influx of new players and having a website dedicated to the tour and chances to play and win money will just fuel its popularity. I do not see the Ultimate Blackjack Tour slowing down anytime soon. Get more star power though is something that they need to work on. Watching celebrities play blackjack is something they need to focus on and encourage. People love watching their favorite celebrities do something they love to do so this is something that will really grow this tour for years to come. Blackjack has always been a card game that people can play quickly and without much formal training as the rules are real simple. Having a Tour that showcases the best players and Internet qualifiers so the average person has a chance to win should make this tournament more popular. They are headed in the right direction and let’s hope they keep going that way. If you love the Ultimate Blackjack Tour and need some added practice then you should play at some casinos and practice. Read Forum Casino’s section on Blackjack to find out the best places to play. Then you can start playing tournaments on the Ultimate Blackjack Tour website. That’s where you can qualify to play on TV. OverviewIn the short time that the Ultimate Blackjack Tour has been around it has made real good progress and I believe it will continue. People love playing games and Blackjack is one of their favorite games. Being able to see other players and learning from them is something the everyday person likes a lot. The premise of the Blackjack tournament format works very well on television and they’ve made it very flashy. The biggest key for a new competition and show like this is to keep it fresh and interesting and it seems to be doing this with success. | 0 |
