Craps rules: Rules for conquering a popular casino gameCraps is a game played by the rolling of two dices along a table that is purpose-built. It is one of the most popular gambling games in a casino. The person playing with the dice is considered to be the shooter. According to the rules of craps, he must shoot the pair of dice with one hand and make sure that they hit the opposite end of the table before settling down. Every time the dice falls off the table, it has to be inspected by a stickman, as per the rule of craps. The game progresses only after the inspection is complete. If the dice are damaged, then new pair is brought forward to be rolled straightaway. Maximum of 20 players can play on the craps table at the same time and take their turns in shooting the pair of dice. However at times, a player may refuse to shoot, yet continue to play. The person playing as a shooter must put forward a bet on the pass-line or the don’t-pass-line to start on with the game. The shooter always gets a choice of 5 dices to choose from, among which he rolls with any two. Others are put back into the bowl of the stickman and not made use of. The game always starts with a come-out roll, from the shooter, who tries to establish a point for him, to keep up in the game. Considering the roll turns out to be 12, 3 or 2, then it is known as “craps”. This ends the round and all the bets on pass line are forfeited. The next shooter is given a chance to roll the dice and continue the game, from where it stopped. Getting a roll of 11 or 7 is considered to be loss for the don’t-pass-line bets and win for the pass-line ones. Again, the dice remains with the shooter, giving him another chance to score. On securing any of the remaining numbers like 10, 9, 8, 6, 5 or 4, the shooter scores a “point”, according to the rules for craps. As per the craps games rules, the dealer moves the puck (*) onto the point obtained for all the players to view the number. There are two options for the players: Either they roll the point number or a seven, in which case there might be win or loss for the players. The roll-out of seven gets a win for the don’t-pass-line, whereas the one for point secures the win for pass-line bets. Having a seven-out stops the play and continues the rolling from the next willing player, who wishes to become the shooter. There is further several numbers of bets, according to the official craps rules, which may vary according to their nature (starting from line bets to player bets) along with multi-roll bets. As far as the line bets are concerned, they may consist of:
As far as the multi-roll bets are concerned, they may not be decided in one shooting alone. Instead, subsequent rolling might be required to determine the course of action. They could be brought under the categories of: Hard way – The two dices showing identical numbers, making 10, 8, 6, or 4. (2, 2 make a hard way 4) Easy way – The numbers on dice are not identical Place and buy – Placing and buying of points can be done for betting other than the current point in play Big 6 and big 8 – They offer even money by placing or buying on the six or eight Lay – Reverse of the play and buy bet However, a player bet is completely different from these. Player bet does not consist of the person betting to be the shooter. Instead, the better bets on the next shooter and his odds of scoring several points with different values. This raises the odds for the person betting to great limits from the 4th, 5th and 6th pay outs and is also known as the fire bet. Similar to the normal game, the points in the fire bet are indicated with fire symbols on the craps-layout to abide by the shooting craps rules. |
